Goal Setting

goal-setting

I was reading a blog that talked about how making your goals public holds you accountable. I don’t know why we would value other people’s opinions more than we value our own, but apparently that’s how it works. If letting myself down won’t disappoint me as much as letting blog readers down, I’ll follow this advice and make my goals public.

  • 6 Months: Get a raise
  • 12 Months: Pay off my student loans
  • 24 Months: Buy an investment property

In October 2016 I will post about how much of a raise I got, if any.

In April 2017 I will post my student loan balance, which should be $0 if I achieve my goal.

In April 2018 I will report on whether or not I purchased a rental property.

Who wants to be the bookie taking bets for over or under???

  1. other people’s opinion don’t matter, but that doesn’t mean we don’t experience social pain. It’s like a lot of people won’t exercise by themselves because they don’t have the willpower, but if they choose to go with a friend then they’ll go because of the social pain of letting their friend down is too high. Can’t wait to see if you reached your goals:)
